Job Description

Aramark Canada is looking for a Support Services Manager with experience in the areas of Food Services, Housekeeping Services, Facilities Services and Laundry Services for an opportunity to service a Healthcare Facility in Winnipeg MB.

 

Reporting to the General Manager, The Support Services Manager is responsible for the food and facilities contract at the site and its financial accountability, and compliance with the standards established by Aramark, regulatory agencies and clients. Leads departments of all services managed.  Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified experience for patients, residents, visitors, and employees.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Job Responsibilities

?    The Manager plans, administers and directs all unit activities related to food and facilities service, including Aramark and client financial accountability, and compliance with the standards established by Aramark, regulatory agencies and clients to provide optimal managed services and drive patient and customer satisfaction.
?    Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified food service experience for residents, visitors and employees.
?    Ensures compliance with food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
?    Interacts with Client Management and maintains effective client and customer relations at all levels of client organization, including conducting rounding. Identifies Aramark service expansion opportunities.
?    Provides overall direction and manages performance for all supervisors and front-line employees, ensuring employee development, engagement and compliance with human resource-related policies and standards, including conducting applicable rounding.
?    Directs, staffs, and trains the food service department regarding food presentation, quality, cost control, and cash handling.
?    Develops operational component forecasts and can explain variances. Responsible for the component’s accounting functions.
?    Ensures compliance with all contract obligations.
?    Assists Food Service Supervisor in ordering, Inventory, Menu Development, and Production Planning 
?    Maintains and Verifies Employee work schedules through web-based payroll tracking systems.
?    Ensures Adherence to financial commitments and all Aramark programs and Standard Operating Procedures.
?    Monitors and Verifies Accounting Documentation through web-based systems.
?    Follows agreed financial projections.
?    Develops and maintains strong leadership team

Qualifications

?    Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a relevant field, or equivalent experience. 
?    Red Seal chef or strong culinary experience would be an asset. 
?    EVS experience is an asset.
?    Previous experience managing in a unionized environment would be an asset. 
?    Menu management, balancing a budget and working within assigned operational costs/budget. 
?    Requires a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience managing operations with financial and operational responsibility.
?    Comfortable using Office365, especially Outlook, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint. 
?    Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with clients, customers of the client and support staff.
?    P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
?    Requires management and leadership skills and the ability to work with confidential employee, client, and Aramark information.
?    A clear Vulnerable Sector Check is a requirement for all qualified candidates.
