Position Title: GCP (Google Cloud Platform) Data Engineer
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 12 Months / 1 year long Contract (with possibilities of more extension) 

Location: This role is based in Mississauga / GTA (Hybrid role, 3 days per week mandatory office work)

Start Date: End of September 2024 

Pay Rate: 75 – 80$ Hourly Incorporated HST

OR

50 – 60$ Hourly on T4

(Depending on years’ of experience and skillset)

 
Job Description (Must – have Skills):
 
We are looking for a GCP (Google Cloud Platform) Data Engineer with below skillsets:

9 – 10 years of relevant experience required

Project Summary: 
 

• This project involves migrating an existing Reporting Application to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• As part of the migration, existing application data pipelines will be rebuilt on GCP, and the existing data sources will be connected to GCP.

Role Requirement: 
 

• The onshore resource will be responsible for leading this engagement, closely collaborating with the client to define and implement the solution within the agreed timelines, with support from an offshore team.
• Given the small team size, it is crucial that the resource is fully hands-on and capable of directly contributing to the project’s technical aspects.

Below is the detailed list of role requirements:
 

• Conduct full technical discovery, identifying pain points, business, and technical requirements, “as is” and “to be” scenarios
• Develop and prioritize use cases as it relates to Clients’ data migration Journey to GCP
• Deep understanding of Google Cloud based data solutions like Cloud DataFusion, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions.
• Is familiar with building secured application in Google Cloud using IAM, Cloud Key Management, Security Command Center, VPC Service Controls, DLP.
• Understanding of CI/CD tools like Git, Cloud Build.
• Manage small teams of delivery engineers successfully delivering work efforts.
• Good to Have – Prior experience or knowledge of SAP systems
• Proficient in writing scripts using shell script or Python
• Experience in Scheduling and managing the data platform on Google cloud Scheduler, Cloud Composer (Airflow)
• Should be aware of Cloud Monitoring.
