Cafe Counter Shift Supervisor

Location: Savours Fresh Market, 3011 Bathurst St, Toronto, ON

Position: We are hiring a Shift Supervisor for our café counter. For afternoon/evening shift and must be available to work on Sundays (Sunday – Thursday, 12pm – 8pm).

We are a small community grocery store that is hiring for our cafe counter. At Savours, connection is at the core of everything we do. As a shift Supervisor, you’ll support the manager in running daily operations during your shifts. Leading the team, you’ll greet customers, take orders, and assign tasks and manage staff to deliver an exceptional customer experience, which includes offering outstanding customer service, serving high-quality beverages and products, and keeping the counter clean and inviting.

Responsibilities:
• Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner. Delivers exceptional customer service by prioritizing the customer experience and making meaningful connections with each customer.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare and serve baked goods, coffee beverages, smoothies, and other foods.
• Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions with accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning counters and
equipment.
• Stays composed during busy periods or unexpected events to ensure the counter runs smoothly and to set a positive example for the shift team.
• Supports new baristas training by positively reinforcing good performance and providing respectful, encouraging guidance when necessary.
• Responsible for Closing and Cleaning checklist, including overseeing the cleaning of all machines at closing time.
• Monitors baristas throughout the shift to ensure consistent delivery of outstanding customer service.
• Complies with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.

Experience:
Customer service experience in a retail or restaurant environment.
Basic Qualifications:
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Adhere to store operating policies and standards, including quality beverages and food products, cash handling, and store safety and security.
• Engage with and understand our customers, responding to their needs with clear and pleasant communication.
• Prepare food and beverages according to standard recipes or customized for customers.
• Be ready to take on various tasks within the store during each shift.

pay: $20/hr to start, with review after 3 months.
