Mechanic Assistant

Job Description:
This role involves performing basic routine maintenance tasks (such as changing oil, replacing filters and lubricating components) under the supervision/guidance of mechanics. Also assisting with repair and maintenance of faulty parts including brakes, suspension systems, engines and electrical systems. Organizing tools, ensuring work area is clean and safe. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be eager to learn and a willingness to follow instructions carefully. No licence is required, but must be mechanically inclined.

Job Responsibilities:
– Assist mechanics with routine maintenance and repair. Including but not limited to oil changes, replacing filters, assisting with repair and maintenance of brakes, suspension systems, engines under mechanic guidance/supervision.
– Organize and maintain tools, parts and supplies
– Perform basic diagnostic tests under mechanic supervision
– Help lift and position machinery equipment/parts.
– Assist in record keeping of repair work

Requirements and Skills
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
– Mechanically inclined, basic understanding of automotive or mechanical work preferred
– Ability to follow detailed instructions
– Strong physical stamina and manual dexterity
