The Opportunity

As a valued member of our Electrical Maintenance team, you will be responsible for the installation, inspection, testing and preventative/corrective maintenance of substation, relay and control and other electrical equipment; completion of inspection and maintenance reports; running of conduits and control cables; participation in substation construction projects; operation of substation facilities; and other duties as assigned. Work will require utilization of specialized test equipment and associated computer software.

You are certified as a Journeyperson Industrial or Construction Electrician in accordance with the Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program. Experience in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of high and low voltage substation equipment, such as power transformers, circuit breakers, reclosers, voltage regulators and instrument transformers is required, although related experience will be considered. You must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.

There is a residency requirement for this position, whereby your primary residence must be within 40km of the Topsail Road office. Compensation is in accordance with the current Collective Agreement. Applications will require a detailed resume and copy of your red seal certificate.
