Introduction: Community Living Centres has proudly supported persons with disabilities since 1986, providing person centred supports in community settings. Our mission is to support individuals towards meaningful inclusion in their own vision of a good life. In recent years we have expanded with the development of new small options and supported apartments, and with them, many new employees and more complex schedules. We utilize the Ceridian workforce management suite, i.e. Dayforce, to develop and implement our schedules and populate our payroll database. The successful applicant to this position will have some years of experience with Dayforce or another similar application, as well as the development and management of schedules in a complex environment with multiple simultaneous locations, divisions, patterns, employee roles, and numerous employees with varying availability.
Summary: This position supports the organization’s mandate of supporting persons with disabilities through scheduling functions across all facilities and support locations, providing scheduling management and oversight that contributes to the organizations payroll and general human resources needs.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain templates for 24/7 shifts at all facilities and support locations that both meet client support needs and employee availability and their employment status.
- Apply templates to develop work schedules for each employee on a monthly basis.
- Oversee, in collaboration with site supervisors and on duty staff, the daily schedule to ensure that all shifts are filled when changes occur due to sick calls, vacations and changes in client support needs.
- Assist in the administration of employee vacations and their coverage in keeping with policy and procedure.
- Ensure that all employee work schedules are accurately captured in timesheets to ensure the accuracy of payroll.
- Assist and support the administration of employee schedule data, such as changes in availability and employment status.
- Recommend policy updates or development pertinent to the scheduling function of the role.
- Develop employee work flows for replacement of shifts for sick calls to be used by on duty staff and on call staff after hours, weekends and holidays.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Completion of post-secondary eduction in human resources, business administration or another relevant field.
- Criminal Reference Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Current First Aid/CPR
- Proof of full Covid-19 Vaccination
- 3 years in a schedule focused administration role utilizing a workforce management suite such as Dayforce or equivalent for an organization with complex scheduling needs that include numerous simultaneous shifts in varying locations or divisions with multiple employee roles.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Detail oriented self-starter that enjoys puzzle-like problem solving.
- Comfort and ability with working both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner while maintaining confidentiality and upholding the values and mission statement of the organization.
- Office Suite experience and knowledge.
Other Requirements:
This is an in office position (8am-4pm) Monday-Friday.
Rate of Pay:
Will be determined based on individuals experience and education.
Compensation will include health plan and pension options.
A company laptop and cell phone will be provided.
Parking at the head office (indoors) will be included.
Three weeks paid vacation annually.
