Responsibilities
Tasks
- Evaluate patient care and progress
- Examine patients to assess general physical condition
- Participate in home care programs for chronic respiratory patients
- Perform or assist with interventions such as airway maintenance, line insertions, inductions and intubations
- Operate and monitor respiratory equipment to administer treatments
- Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients’ condition
- Attend educational conferences and workshops

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate
- Certificate of Registry from the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists – R.R.T.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) Certificate
- CPR Certificate
