POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shunt Driver & Fleet Coordinator is responsible for shunting trailers, supporting warehouse operations, and managing fleet coordination activities. This role ensures smooth operations by moving trailers, handling maintenance logistics, conducting driver evaluations, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Additionally, the position provides support to both the Fleet Manager and the Safety Department, offering a versatile role that blends driving, operational support, and administrative fleet duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shunting & Warehouse Operations:
– Move trailers between the yard, mechanic shop, and warehouse as directed.
– Assist with truck deliveries to outside repair shops.
– Support warehouse operations by loading/unloading trailers, ensuring accuracy and damage free deliveries.
– Secure trailers in accordance with safety regulations and chock them prior to entry.
– Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and supply area.

Fleet Coordination:
– Manage truck and trailer files in compliance with MTO and DOT regulations.
– Conduct driver road tests and evaluations, providing feedback to the recruiting team.
– Schedule trucks for maintenance and deliver them to repair shops if needed.
– Handle truck and trailer registrations, renewals, and equipment sourcing (Pre-Pass, DTOPS).
– Perform weekly driver audits (Pre-Trip Inspections) and ensure driver compliance.

Driver Support:
– Train drivers on ELD software, load securement, and safety protocols.
– Take driver phone calls regarding company policies, regulations, and on-road issues (overweight, hazmat, load securement).
– Submit road test evaluations to the recruiting department.

Safety & Compliance:
– Perform random inspections of trucks/trailers for safety, cleanliness, and compliance.
– Support the Safety Department by resolving on-road incidents and violations.
– Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for safety issues, including breakdowns and accidents.

Fleet Management:
– Oversee equipment onboarding, including registration, plating, and accessory management.
– Track and manage tire inventory with the parts department.
– Regularly audit truck permit binders and monitor driver E-Log compliance (US/CA regulations).
– Provide full support to the Fleet Manager and cover responsibilities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Licenses & Certifications:
– Valid AZ License.
– Forklift Operator Certification.

Experience:
– Minimum 2 years of fleet management or equipment handling experience.
– Experience in the trucking industry (required).
– Familiarity with safety protocols, load securement, and trucking regulations (CTPAT, US/CA regulations).

Skills:
– Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
– Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle phone inquiries.
– Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Outlook.
– Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
-Bilingualism is an asset.

Additional Requirements:
– Must be available for after-hours on-call rotations.
– Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
– Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across Safety, Fleet Maintenance, and Operations departments
