SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a full-time Receptionist to join our Halifax office. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a receptionist within a busy environment and enjoy multi-tasking between greeting clients, answering phones and managing office traffic efficiently. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will:

  • Professionally receive & greet visitors, provide information as required, and direct client traffic;
  • Answer, screen and forward calls, take messages and provide information as required;
  • Coordinate outgoing couriers and shipments. Receive, date stamp and sort incoming mail, couriers and hand deliveries;
  • Liaise with building services regarding premises concerns;
  • Manage and maintain security access cards and validate daily parking;
  • Distribute incoming faxes;
  • Coordinate the daily boardroom schedule;
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum two (2) years of receptionist experience. Previous experience in a professional services environment preferred;
  • Previous experience using a multi-line phone system is an asset;
  • Successful completion of a diploma in Office Services or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • You take pride in providing first class service to internal and external clients;
  • Personable, polished and professional, you possess exceptional communication skills;
  • Demonstrated experience providing support in a busy environment with a broad variety of administrative and clerical functions;
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate issues and resolve problems or escalate as appropriate;
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a supportive team member;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, with excellent organizational skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision;
  • Proficient with MS Office software
