Active Caregiver Role for a 26 Year Old Man With Autism

Caregiver needed to help A 26 year old man with autism, learn valuable life skills at home and in the community.

We have day shifts, 11am-9:30pm, and night shifts, 9:30pm-11am. We are currently looking to fill two day shifts per week plus covering for other staff as needed. We are willing to be flexible on the days of the week that you are available and can discuss this further upon hiring.

A reliable vehicle is necessary for this position, as we live out of town. We live on a farm 20 minutes west of St. Albert and 20 minutes north of Stony Plain.

No prior training is necessary. You just need a strong will to help him achieve his best, enjoy the outdoors and a willingness to have fun!

He requires help with everything. Leisure, communication, toileting, exercise, bathing, etc. He is often awake during the night. He needs a lot of exercise throughout his whole day. He also needs to go into the community during the day to enjoy a variety of activities. For example: walking, swimming, museums, greenhouses, libraries, running, etc.

We are looking for someone with:

-Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, desire to make a difference, and an abundance of energy.
-physical health and enjoys spending a lot of time walking outside.
-Effective time management and problem solving skills, the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– A reliable vehicle, valid Driver’s License, and insurance.
-An up to date criminal record check with vulnerable sector check.

You will receive:

Extensive training.Training to think creatively and independently.30 hours per week$18.50-$21.50 per hour
