Instructional Designer

We are hiring an Instructional Designer for an agricultural and construction machinery manufacturer in Pickering, Ontario!

The Instructional Designer will play a vital role within the Learning and Development team, collaborating closely to assess, design, and develop tailored content to meet the needs of both our business and dealer network. Leveraging their expertise and educational background, they will strive to deliver exceptional learning experiences, while continuously innovating and enhancing current methodologies, tools, and overall corporate growth strategy.

This is a hybrid role that requires 2-3 days in the office. During training periods, you will be required to be in the office more frequently.

Responsibilities:

Develop Learning Products (70%)

  • Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts.
  • Conduct needs assessments and task analyses.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate eLearning and instructor-led solutions.
  • Prepare ILT courses and adapt materials for Canadian use.
  • Maintain project progress communication.
  • Review and repurpose existing courses.
  • Publish online training courses via LMS.
  • Participate in national and regional dealer meetings.

LMS Collaboration (15%)

  • Monitor and maintain LMS operations.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve user inquiries.
  • Assist with LMS updates and integrations.
  • Provide user support and generate LMS usage reports.
  • Support dealers with LMS-related questions.

Drive Innovation (15%)

  • Research industry trends and best practices.
  • Identify and implement improvements in learning methodologies.
  • Participate in professional development.
  • Evaluate and enhance existing programs and materials.
  • Propose and implement innovative learning solutions.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Education, Instructional Design, Adult Education, or related field.
  • Experience in instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Experience with difficult subject matters.
  • Analytical communication.
  • Proficient in learning authoring tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate 360 Suite, Microsoft Office).
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in English; bilingual English-French is an asset.

Pay:
$80,000-$85,000
14% bonus, extensive benefits package
