Carpenter

Canadian-owned and operated Action Home Services Inc. is looking to hire a full-time Carpenter to join our fast-growing and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a driven, independent, and knowledgeable individual ready to grow and thrive in their career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand carpentry specifications and material requirements.
• Calculate the necessary materials based on the project specifications.
• Prepare layouts and designs in accordance with building codes, using carpentry tools for accurate measurements.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel for various carpentry tasks.
• Assemble and join materials to construct wooden structures.
• Build and install foundations, floor beams, and subflooring as part of the construction process.
• Erect walls and roof systems, ensuring structural integrity.
• Fit and install trim items, including doors, stairs, and moldings, to complete the finishing work.
• Install hardware and other carpentry-related fixtures.
• Maintain, repair, and renovate wooden structures in various settings, such as mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
• Oversee and supervise apprentices and other carpenters on the job site.
• Prepare cost estimates for carpentry projects and provide them to clients.

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience:

Salary – $33.00 /hour
