Full-Time Warehouse Technician

We are looking for an experienced Full-Time Warehouse Technician for the head office of a growing wholesale/supply business in Moncton.

We are looking for a friendly, outgoing individual that wants to be involved with the business, is interested in being a team member, participating in corporate events, and helping to promote a positive influence on the company as they will be interacting directly with clients and vendors. The successful candidate will have a desire to work for a medium sized business and work closely with the ownership group. The candidate will be a key individual in the company’s successful operation.

Job Description:

As a Warehouse Technician, you will be responsible for picking, packing, and shipping customer orders as well as counting, verifying, receiving, and putting away incoming vendor material and customer returns. A high attention to detail will ensure exceptional levels of customer service and satisfaction. The Warehouse Technician must load and unload shipments regularly, with the capability of repetitive heavy lifting. Other responsibilities will include the inspection of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify contents and quality.

Receiving duties include:

  • Upon unloading vendor shipments or customer returns, obtain the packing slip and verify material received. Note any discrepancies or damaged material
  • Print and verify the computer receiving documents and enter material received into the computer system
  • Identify special order material and damaged material and store in proper location
  • Note all shipping discrepancies on freight carrier’s Bill of Lading, initiate freight claims and forward paperwork to appropriate teammate
  • Advising Team Lead of any shortages of goods in the warehouse so inventory is well communicated and stocked
  • Handle merchandise in a damage-free manner and report all equipment malfunctions to Lead.
  • Properly receive inbound shipments in a prompt manner, including safe unloading of items from carriers to assigned warehouse locations
  • Process all required administrative work and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking back to Accounting
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring personal safety as well as the safety of others, always exercising good housekeeping practices

Picking, Packing, and Shipping Duties Include:

  • Assemble material and pack appropriately for pick up or shipment to customer
  • Complete documentation for any shipments being delivered via third party carrier or requiring Transportation of Dangerous Goods documentation
  • Having customer review goods and sign off on paperwork prior to leaving warehouse
  • Confirm item counts ensuring the correct product with the correct description & serial codes, is prepared for customer
  • Pick material for customer orders, counting and comparing items to the shipping documentation

Additional Duties Include:

  • Lead by example and represent the corporation in a professional manner
  • Inspire teammates towards strategic initiatives and operational objectives
  • Carry out inventory control to ensure inventories are at optimal levels

Qualifications:

  • HVAC knowledge required
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, time management, sense of urgency and prioritizing skills
  • Phone skills
  • Technological literacy (MS Suite, ERP systems, shipping portals etc.) and photocopying
  • Computer skills including scanning, email, data collection
  • Ability to take direction and work with a minimal amount of supervision.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace
  • Two (2) years experience in picking/packing – Preferred; Two (2) years previous experience in shipping
  • Understanding of warehouse processes required
  • Forklift experience required; Forklift certification (must provide copy of certification) or willing to become certified

Requirements of the Warehouse Technician:

  • Previous experience in shipping/receiving department – Preferred
  • Previous experience in working in a medium to large warehouse – Preferred
  • Drive to succeed with a strong entrepreneurial spirit
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and accurately process orders
  • Able to develop comprehensive product knowledge
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; College and/or University degree an asset
  • Able to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
  • Responsible to organize and help inventory HVAC equipment and materials, including loading and unloading of equipment, and scanning and entering serialized equipment into system
  • Staging of HVAC Equipment and materials prior to shipping out for installations.
  • Document and report on Stock quantities at all times to ensure no stoppage of work due to inadequate Equipment inventory
  • Work closely with customers, Estimating Team, Accounting Team, and management to assure smooth and accurate flow of installation information, model and serial numbers and any other documentation required for accurate customer history files
  • Refurbishing any damaged equipment/equipment packaging
  • Ability to handle physical workload, prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, grasp, reach, pull, push, and carry
  • English verbal, written, and reading skills required
  • Perform duties as assigned

  • Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:30pm and Friday 7:30am to Noon – in warehouse
