Steele Auto Group is seeking a Controller to join our team in HRM!

As the Controller, you are responsible for working closely with the Head Office Finance team. Working directly with dealerships in the day-to-day functions of the finances.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the overall financial operation of the dealerships
  • Manage and develop the Accounting team
  • Review and oversee day to day accounting functions including Payroll, AP, AR, Balance Sheet and Income Statements
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasting
  • Financial analysis and reporting
  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Establishing and following best practices and procedures
  • Work closely with Department Managers
  • Provide reports to Corporate Head Office
  • Some travel required

Requirements:

  • University degree or certificate in business/commerce/accounting or a related field
  • 5 years experience in an accounting role, preferably in an automotive dealership setting
  • Technically inclined, with advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel
  • Experience with HRIS is considered an asset but not required
  • Experience managing/supervising a team

Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
