Insulator

The Insulator is responsible for the installation and removal of insulation according to Industry standards and codes as well as Owner/User requirements

Duties & Responsibilities

• Interpreting blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the types of materials and equipment to use and plan the required tasks
• Knowledge of construction terminology
• Read and understand the work permits
• Basic rigging knowledge
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment and maintains housekeeping of job site.
• Returns all tools and materials used by the crew to the proper place at the end of shift.
• Must fully participate in the safety assessment of the job and completion of JSA’s.
• Fully participate in health, safety, quality and environmental processes.

Required qualifications Trades:

• Journeypersons and Apprentices are welcome
• Insulation Trade Certification
• National Insulation Association (NIA) – ATSM Insulation Standards
• Familiar with applicable INDUSTRY codes and standards
• Valid Confined Space, Fall Arrest, Powerline Hazard and WHMIS certificates
• Industrial experience
• Ability to adhere to company safety policies and procedures
• Working at heights and confined spaces
• Able to wear a respirator for duties as required
• Able to pass pre-employment requirements
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills

Physical Demands:

• Regularly lifts/moves object up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lifts/moves >50lbs. Push/Pulling forces up to 50lbs are required.
• Work repetitively involves reaching/stretching, bending, and twisting; regular standing, walking, and climbing.
• Use of gross and fine motor skills; constant use of hand tools that require accurate control and steadiness and maintaining physical balance (e.g., Ladders/scaffolding).
• Work environments can present exposure to loud noises or environmental hazards.
