Seeking a Live-In Caregiver and Support Opportunity – Tottenham, ON

Are you a compassionate individual looking for a live-in arrangement? We are seeking a Live-In Caregiver and Support person for an elderly gentleman. In exchange for caregiving and light home care related duties, we offer a lovely bachelor apartment with a private entrance, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom/living room (utilities included). The location for this arrangement is in Tottenham – on a beautiful country property with rolling hills and fresh air.

Requirements:
• Personal Care Experience
• Valid G driver’s license
• Comfortable with a friendly dog
• Completed Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within the last 3 months)
• Covid-19 Vaccine up to date
• First Aid & CPR certification preferred
• Good English language communication skills
• Friendly, compassionate, and respectful

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting with daily activities, supporting safety and well-being
• Basic housekeeping
• Laundry and bed-making
• Occasional meal prep and personal care assistance
• On-call availability for dog care (letting out, cleanup)
• Occasional companionship and conversation
• Medication and appointment reminders
• Clearing snow/ice from front steps and walkway
• Transporting to appointments as needed
• Picking up groceries / supplies as needed

Note that the individual seeking this support maintains a high degree of independence. A recent surgery as well as age-related limitations have prompted the desire for this caregiving arrangement. This senior is seeking to remain in his home while meeting the challenges of aging with dignity.
