Casual Legal Courier / Process Server

Compensation for successful delivery: $17.50 plus $0.35/km
Compensation for attempted delivery: $3.50 plus $0.35/km
Mileage is paid based on round trip (from our office to delivery address and back)
Service area: GTA (Toronto, Peel, Halton, Vaughan)
Contract Terms: Casual
Length of Contract: Permanent
Requirements: High School (Grade 12), access to vehicle, clean criminal record
Experience: No Experience Required, will provide training

Lormit Legal Support Solutions (Toronto) is a franchise owned and operated by Leslie and Xavier Ramirez in Toronto, Ontario. Lormit works with law firms, self-represented individuals, and financial institutions to deliver a variety of legal documents.

##JOB SUMMARY:
As a legal courier (process server) you will be delivering legal documents to individuals or corporations upon client request, or effecting any of the aforementioned services.

##RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Pick-up and drop-off documents to our office
Serving legal documents to individuals or corporations based on client instructions
Travel across GTHA (up to 300 KM round trip)
Workload depends on the demand by law offices with the opportunity to accept or decline jobs (30-60 hours/month)
Documents must be delivered within a specified time frame
A smartphone with a minimum 10GB data plan is required
Must log all details of the delivery using our Web App (we will train)
Must be available to sign Affidavits at our Lawyer’s office when required (usually once a week)

##QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Must have a valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle (we pay mileage).
Use a Map app to find locations.
Must use problem-solving skills to locate individuals.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
Must be comfortable driving long distances (up to 300 KM round trip).
Highly motivated, logical thinker, attention to detail, and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

##PAYMENT TERMS:
Commission reports are processed and paid on a biweekly basis.
