Janitor

We are hiring a Janitor for an automotive manufacturing facility in Concord! We are seeking an experienced, reliable employee to work on an afternoon shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure safe practices prior to working on any equipment as to prevent harm to himself/herself and to others (i.e., lockout procedure, barricading areas, safe handling of materials, etc.). This includes making the supervisor aware of any unsafe procedures or areas so that corrective actions can be taken.
• Cleans the chips out of the machinery and ensures that any trays of oil are drained.
• Drive the floor scrubber and cleans the plant frequently.
• Maintain assigned area(s) in a clean and tidy manner.
• Communicate to your supervisor all problem areas so that appropriate action can be Cleans equipment to prepare for tooling changeover or maintenance troubleshooting as required.
• Use the manual extension of the floor scrubber to clean the area around the equipment as required.
• Empty all wastebaskets in the plant.
• Tidy washrooms and replenish soap and paper towel dispensers in plant and office washrooms.
• Dispose of cardboard into the compactor.
• Replenish Personal Protective Equipment at appropriate locations, incl. lens cleaner.
• Clean the lunchroom, wipe tables, sinks, counters, and floors, and empty garbage regularly.
• Responsible for the collection, separation, and of recycling and ensuring that recycling areas are in clean condition at all times.
• Responsible for collecting gloves, rags, etc., ensuring they are recycled and stored properly and in an orderly fashion.
• Responsible for maintaining the inventory of Janitor supplies and bringing forward
• Responsible to ensure that all walkways and stairs are clear of snow and ice.
• Responsible for collecting cardboard totes, and disposing of them. Also collecting wooden skids and placing them in the wood recycling bin.
• Clean water coolers/fountains and replenish eye wash stations as required
• Cleans snow from all plant entries, salt as necessary.
• Performs other various duties as required by the supervisor or his/her designate.

Skills and Qualification Requirements :

• High school education or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to execute verbal or written instructions.
• Able to read work instructions
• WHMIS certification (completed via IS2)
• Must have experience in a manufacturing environment, automotive preferred.
• Good organizational skills.
• Driving experience, previous cleaning experience.
• Ability to work under minimum supervision.

Pay Rate / Shift:

• $18.50/HR Monday Friday, 3:00PM 11:00PM
