Standard Work Hours: Mon – Fri | 7:30 am – 4:00 pm | 40 hours per week
Additional Working Conditions:
The nature of the work will vary depending on the task, may be in or out of doors under varying conditions, at heights or in confined spaces.
Salary: $31.31 per hour
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Plumbing Foreperson, the Plumber will be responsible for carrying out skilled maintenance and repair work in the plumbing trade at the Journeyman level.
- Work as a plumber alone or as a member of a crew employed on maintenance and construction work orders and projects.
- Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial and industrial plumbing pipes, fixtures and systems and other plumbing equipment used for water distribution and wastewater disposal.
- Prepare job estimates as to the labour and materials required to complete the job.
- Perform elementary duties of another trade to expedite completion of the assigned task.
- Allocate and supervise the work of trades helpers and/or labourers.
- Ensure application of safety precautions as may be required to ensure minimum hazard to self and others.
- Ensure care and preservation of assigned tools and equipment.
- Performs other related duties as required.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Journeyman certificate in the Plumbing trade as issued by the Province of New Brunswick is essential. Formal education as required by the Province of New Brunswick to meet the Journeyman standard for the Plumbing trade.
- A minimum of three (3) years of diversified experience at the Journeyman level in the Plumbing trade with a concentration on maintenance.
- Thorough knowledge of the National Plumbing Code of Canada, National Building Code, Environmental Regulations as they affect the Plumbing trade and the NB Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Additional Strengths
- The ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and to be able to work from sketches and diagrams.
- Proven ability to work with other trades people and versatility in handling and using the tools of the trade.
- Must have the physical capacity to carry out the functions of the trade, including the ability, on occasion, to lift heavy objects, work from ladders or in cramped quarters.
