PSW/Housekeeper required for woman in Mississauga

Hours:
– Full-time 6 hours/day, 5 days/week.
– Start and end times are somewhat flexible.

Location:
– House near Erin Mills and Dundas in Mississauga (please be sure your commute from home is reasonable)

Duties:
– Personal care for a woman with MS, including use of a mechanical lift, washing, dressing, transfers, feeding, toileting
– Help with activities, including use of a Windows PC, exercises, household activities, walks outdoors.
– Light housekeeping, including keeping the house tidy, cleaning surfaces and floors, cooking light meals, and laundry.
– Helping the client to swim in a municipal swimming pool.

Qualifications:
– PSW or equivalent experience
– References, when requested.
– Criminal reference check, when requested
– Good English.
– Able to move the client.
– Experience with Windows applications.
– Able to swim preferred, but in any case, able to move client into the water in a swimming pool.
– Driving license preferred, but not mandatory.

Terms:
– This is a full time job with no end date.
– We are funded by the CILT Direct Funding program, therefore we will be your direct employer. WE CANNOT WORK THROUGH AN AGENCY.
– Rate is hourly, paid bi-weekly by cheque.
– Subject to a 3 month probationary period.
– Standard deductions apply (taxes, CPP, EI)
– This is a non-smoking/vaping home.
– 4% vacation pay is added to each paycheque, therefore although you can take vacations, you will not be paid for them.
– Statutory holidays (9 per year) are paid.
