STATUS: Full-Time & Casual
JOB PURPOSE: Maintains and promotes resident well being by assisting with kitchen operations and the preparation of tasteful meals that meet the nutritional needs and requirements of our residents.
Villa Acadienne are long term care facilities that has adopted the Eden Alternative Philosophy of Care. We believe in a resident centered care approach and strive to make life for our resident’s worth living. We’re moving away from a medical model of care and transforming our home into a place where residents can continue to grow and live full lives.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES:
- Minimum grade 10 or equivalent.
- Food Handlers Certification (within the past 5 years) or willing to obtain within 3 months.
- Previous cooking experience in a food service operation an asset.
- A good understanding of the elderly.
- Able to understand and speak French an asset.
- Able to work flexible hours (days, weekends and holidays).
